I came across the mini bottles of Patron, and instantly knew they would be the perfect way to serve drinks at our next party. I mean, individual drinks you can pre-make before your guests arrive? It sounds as awesome as they taste!
When our friends at Patron sent me a few of the mini XO Cafe bottles to create a recipe with, my mind started racing. I knew how much I loved to put a splash of Patrón XO Café in my coffee, so why not have some fun and pair the drink with a donut? It sounded like the perfect after-dinner drink! (…and it is!)
On the day of our party, I prepped a few of these drinks, then set them in the refrigerator to chill until our guests arrived. I then placed them on a bed of ice, so the guests were welcomed to grab one as they passed by. You want to make sure you keep them chilled — you don’t want the milk to spoil!
Patrón XO Café Drink
3 oz Patrón XO Café Dark Cocoa
3 oz Milk or Heavy Cream
glazed donut hole, your choice of flavor (I used chocolate donut holes!)
For each mini bottle of Patrón XO Café, empty the contents from the mini bottle into a large glass. Dip the rim of the mini bottle into a shallow pan of milk or Patron, then dip into the sprinkles. Let set for about 2 minutes.
Combine all liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice. Strain into a funnel, set atop the mini Patrón XO Café bottle. Top with a donut hole, and insert a straw. Serve chilled.
*Of course this drink can be made in other glasses, too, if you don’t have the mini bottles. You can even cut a slit into the bottom of the donut hole and garnish the side of any glass!
