I thought it’d be fun to recap some of my favorite adventures from 2013. We are a very busy family, trying to provide our children with lots of experiences. With that said, I have no time for scrap booking – so a blog post is the perfect place to look back on our 2013 blessings! (In chronological order, starting with January.)
Having a 3 year old brings tons of excitement when you see Sesame Street Live in Dallas. Ernie gave us high fives while Cookie Monster showed us the static electricity as he rubbed my son’s hair with his hand.
One of our favorite places to visit in San Antonio is Sea World! So what a treat we received when the Sea World penguins came to Dallas for a special media event! Penguins are my daughter’s favorite animal – she loved this!
The Croods was a top movie this year, and when we met with the directors, they had nothing but great things to say about the (then) upcoming film!
Easter is a beautiful holiday, and one of my favorite events is a local Easter Egg hut that serves (the best) roasted corn! *This memory will contain two pictures… the corn is that noteworthy! Who would have thought winning a bike could be as easy as finding that one lucky egg (out of hundreds)! Her day was definitely made!
Wholly Guacamole is a brand I admire – not only for their fantastic products, but for dedication to bloggers as well. They arranged a day for bloggers to get in the kitchen with some great chefs, and boy did we learn some useful techniques! Sweet Potato Gnocchi, anyone?
We often take trips to the park. We have two nice parks within a mile of our home. It’s fun to go out on a nice day and absorb some of the air, smiles and laughter that a park can bring.
We visited the drive-in theater to see The Croods and Oz The Great and Powerful. Two children just couldn’t make it past their normal bedtime, so we had to catch Oz on another day. Still, the experience of visiting the drive-in was way cool!
This was our second year to participate in the Dirty Scurry, a mud run for children in the Dallas area. This was Ava’s first year to participate, and though very dirty, she had lots of fun! Running in the mud is right up her alley!
My husband and I took a date night to Dallas to have “Dinner with the Dynasty“. It was great to listen to both Phil and Willie’s personal stories of accomplishments, faith and failure.
In May, my son and I went on an overnight field trip to the NASA Space Center in Houston. We learned many interesting facts about space, astronauts and spaceships!
I had to break up the recap into two posts so I didn’t bring you into picture overload! (By the way, it’s so hard trying to pick out “only” 24 favorites!) This post will be continued. Please click here to read the rest of our favorite 2013 adventures!
