If there’s one thing I’m certain of, it has to be my love for traveling. I enjoy seeing new sights, landmarks and people. I like to pick up on accents and watch the differences in culture, even if it’s just from one state to the next. I find joy in this.
Recently, we looked into visiting Ames, Iowa. With a population of over 62,000, Ames offers cultural, recreational, educational, business, and entertainment amenities in the metro areas. It’s home to Iowa State University, and not only educates students from around the globe, but has become a player in developing the world’s bio-economic future. But how did we come across Ames as a destination to visit? It was listed on CNNMoney.com as the ninth “Best Place to Live in the United States” and deemed the “Best College Town in America”. That’s pretty impressive, if you ask me!
Ames is centrally located in the heart of Iowa, and offers comprehensive medical care as well as top-quality schools. Those two features might be enough to get us to move there. And I’m being serious. (But don’t tell my Mom that. Not yet.)
The area offers a Nature Center, museums, wineries, kayaking and pottery classes, to name a few. Ames has business opportunities around the corner, impressive dealerships, food truck throwdowns and several woodland parks. Just typing this out from my research makes me get a sense of relaxation and fun …and I didn’t even mention the ice skating or golf courses!
I hope to visit Iowa soon, if not this summer!
