My children enjoy reading books. We read everyday – it’s a part of our lives! On our home library shelf, we have books for all ages. Some are silly, some are filled with pictures, some are serious, and others are full of chapters. I am happy that my 3rd grader’s nightly homework assignment is reading!
I was recently given the opportunity to review the first two books from a new series, Ghost Buddy, from Scholastic (the same company that has book orders and book fairs!). Ghost Buddy is written by New York Times best selling authors Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver. The chapter books are ideal for children ages 8-10 and feature lots of fun!
“Billy and Hoover are back in the hilarious new series from bestselling authors Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver!
It’s time for Moorepark Middle School’s annual Speak Out Challenge, and Billy Broccoli thinks he’s got it made. With his best friend Hoover Porterhouse—the ghost with the most—by his side, Billy’s got the competition in the bag. Who wouldn’t vote for a demonstration on mind reading?
But when Billy lands a spot on the sixth-grade team, he starts spending more time with his new teammates than he does with Hoover. And the Hoove plays second fiddle to no one! If Billy’s not careful, his secret weapon might just vanish into thin air, leaving Billy to pick up the pieces of a demonstration-day disaster!”
The first series is titled, Ghost Buddy – Zero to Hero
The second series is titled, Ghost Buddy: Mind If I Read Your Mind?
My son and I really enjoyed the first book! We had noticed it at a recent book fair, and were excited to get to read it for t0gether! My son liked the mystery and the way the story is laid out. It was fun to laugh and discuss the book with each other. The story line is great. (And lessons at the end of a book are always a hit!)
We are now reading the second book in the series. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!

Awesome! I know someone I could give this too 🙂 Great Review!
Who knew the Fonz was writing books! Well, I didn’t at least!
Sounds like a fun book! Thanks for the great review!
We don’t really do ghost books but glad you are liking it!
I guess I’m a little behind. I didn’t know Henry Winkler wrote books. I bet they are funny!! What age group is this book for?
