I saw Avengers Infinity War today.  Yep… three short days before it opens in theaters on April 27, and let me tell you, I already have my ticket to see it again this weekend.

This post is going to be hard to write because I want to discuss what I saw with all of you, but I have to be fair and share no spoilers.  You need to see this as I did, walking into the theater knowing nothing of what’s to happen, except I want you to know how to prepare.

We all know the plot: The Avengers come together to fight an evil force whose goal is to obtain all of the Infinity Stones and rule the universe.  The evil?  Thanos, who you probably recognize from a previous Avengers film.

Through the film, you will laugh, you might cry and if you’re like me, you will sit on the edge of the seat for 2 hours and 40 minutes.  Then, even after the credits, you’ll sit there longer, trying to process what you just watched.  This may just be the best Marvel film of all time, but I’ll let you decide that for yourself.

Before Watching Avengers Infinity War

  1.  Re-watch some of the past Marvel films.  My teenage son (who was my honored guest at the media screening) suggests you watch these four:
    Captain America: The First Avenger
    The Avengers
    Guardians of the Galaxy
    Thor: Ragnarok
(and if you have time, Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2)
    .
  2.  Familiarize yourself with the Infinity Stones and pay attention to what each is capable of.  There are 6 Infinity Stones: Power, Space, Reality, Time, Mind, and Soul.

  3. Go to the restroom ten minutes before the film starts.  You don’t want to miss even one second of Infinity War because it’s that intense.  Get your popcorn and sodas, use the restroom, turn off your phone and put your full attention on the screen.  Give yourself a good three hours to watch.  (All Marvel fans know there’s an extra scene after the credits roll!)

The Russo brothers did an amazing job on this film, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!
