One of my favorite restaurants for brunch in the DFW area is Blue Mesa. From the fajitas to the sweet potato chips to the house-made whipped cream, it is top notch and never disappoints. And I didn’t even mention the mimosas!
Blue Mesa is having their 20th Annual Hatch Chile Festival through September, which will include many Hatch chile pepper-based specials. You’ll find Oaxaca cheese bites, pozole, braised short ribs with Hatch tomatillo sauce, bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and steak relleno tacos, to name a few dishes. Each of these items, plus more, will be available during the festival buffet dinner, which is like Blue Mesa’s buffet brunch, but with all the Hatch specials added. And I can’t wait!
The Hatch Chile Festival Buffet Dinner will be on August 17, starting at 5pm. The buffet will be $20 per person, $7 for children 6-10 and free for children 5 and under. Reservations are recommended, so don’t forget to do that!
And don’t forget to sign up to be a Chilehead before you go! Chileheads pay only $10 for the dinner, which is half price! (Show the Chilehead email on your phone or in print, or sign up at the restaurant!)
