Did you go to Wal-Mart for Dora’s Birthday Celebration Saturday?
Was it what you expected?
We got to Wal-Mart around 2:30 PM, and saw this:
Was this the celebration?
Where were the cupcakes? Where were the pictures? Where was Dora?
Couldn’t they have taken a second to blow up a balloon?
I was disappointed. My children were disappointed. My husband was furious….(We made a special trip to Wal-Mart for this?)
After asking about the cupcakes, and explaining details found on the Wal-Mart website, an employee said she would ‘see’ if she could find cupcakes for my children. It wasn’t about the cupcakes. It was about Dora!
The employee returned with a cookie for each of my children, and stated that the toy department knew nothing about the event until they arrived at work this morning. She said she didn’t even know if Dora herself was supposed to be there, or if they were supposed to have a cut-out of some type, and that the person in charge had the day off. Either way, there was no sign of Dora other than what you see in the picture. Are you serious?
I am sure many of you went out to the event today. If so, I am sorry for promoting something that may have disappointed you! My daughter keeps blaming Dora for not being at her own party! I keep assuring her, that it was Wal-Mart who forgot to invite Dora! (What else do you tell a 3 year old?)
I have written to the CEO of Wal-Mart, as well as Fisher-Price and Nickelodeon. A reader also shared this link with me. I will let you know if I hear from any of these companies!
And just so you know, in the future, I will second-guess before I promote events held at Wal-Mart.
