Calling all Elvis fans!
Friday, August 16, 2013 marks the 36th Anniversary of the King of Rock n’ Roll, Elvis Presley’s death. Every year thousands of people line up outside Elvis’ home, Graceland, for the annual Candlelight Vigil. It’s a solemn time where Elvis fans can pay their respects to his life and legacy. The gates of Graceland are open allowing those in attendance to file past the grave of Elvis Presley.
This year, in conjunction with the Elvis at 21 exhibit, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History will be holding the first ever Candlelight Vigil for Presley in Fort Worth. The Vigil will take place on the Museum’s front lawn beginning at 9:00pm. Fans of all ages are then invited to walk through the Elvis at 21 exhibit. Those who attend are welcomed to bring flowers and/or personal tributes to be placed at the entrance of the exhibit. Elvis Tribute artist, Drake Milligan will also be performing that evening.
The event is free to the general public.
