I was invited to the VIP night before the attraction opened to the public. All opinions are my own.
One of my all-time favorite movies has to be The Wizard of Oz. I’m a big fan of the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man, so when I found out about a new Oz attraction in Arlington this summer, I couldn’t wait to find out more!
Fantasy in Sand uses nearly 3 million pounds of sand and shapes it into 16 incredible scenes from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz storybook. And it’s an amazing sight!
It’s a neat experience, and fun way to teach your children about appreciation and dedication! I can only imagine how long it took to build one scene, more less the entire attraction! (Also, this is your warning that there is a 2,000 square foot sandbox at the end. It’s stocked with beach toys for children to enjoy while Mom and Dad relax at the nearby bar and picnic tables.) I’d bring a paintbrush to dust off sand before making your way to the car!
Fantasy in Sand made its US debut today, and it can be found in the two purple tents located at Lot F of Globe Life Park in Arlington. (Lot F is near the Sheraton.)
Fantasy in Sand runs from May 22nd through August 23rd then moves to the next US city.
