One of the most sought after treats at the fair or amusement park is funnel cakes! This highly addictive, not-so-good-for-you treat is something craved by many!
But I have good news – now, you don’t have to go to an event to get them! Funnel cakes are super easy to make and can be dressed up for the holidays!
Funnel Cake Recipe
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp baking poweder
1 1/4 cup flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
vegetable or canola oil, for frying
powdered sugar, for dusting
Whisk together egg and milk. Add dry ingredients, mixing until smooth. Pour the mixture into a squeeze bottle (you can use a small funnel, too.)
Preheat oil to 375 degrees. When oil is hot, let batter drizzle into oil (into desired shape) and fry until light brown, about 1 minute. Gently flip funnel cake over and fry for another minute.
Remove funnel cake from oil and let drain on paper towels to absorb excess grease.
Top with powdered sugar and/or syrup of your choice.
We added chocolate syrup and plastic spiders to our funnel cake snack, though there was little time for pictures of the finished product:
