Casa Mañana continues celebrating its 60th anniversary season, presented by Frank Kent Cadillac, with the pop culture phenomenon, Grease!
Put on your bobby socks and poodle skirts and get ready to hand-jive to the electrifying hits we all love: “You’re the One that I Want,” “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’” and more! I promise you will fall back in love with the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies to see why Grease is still the word. This show is suitable for mature audiences.
Rico Lebron and Mary Mattison start as “Danny” and “Sandy.” Austin Hohnke and Hannah Shankman pair up as “Kenickie” and “Betty Rizzo.” Christian Probst, “Doody,” Jason Moody, “Sonny LaTierra” and Zach Sutton, “Roger,” complete the T-Birds. The Pink Ladies are: Emmie Kivell, “Marty,” Emily J Pace, “Frenchy” and Madison Kaufmann “Jan.” Others cast members include: Kimberly Pine, “Patty Simcox,” Zachary J. Willis, “Eugene lorczyk,” Brett Warner, “Miss Lynch,” Zak Reynolds, “Vince Fontaine,” Winston Daniels, “Teen Angel/Johnny Casino” and Ashley Arcement, “ChaCha DiGregorio,” with Tristin Thomas and Sarah Youngblood filling out the ensemble.
The production was so good. If I told you I wanted to get up and sing along, I’m 100% telling the truth. The only “thing” that stopped me was my daughter, but you can bet I was tapping and singing along to the songs… with many others in the audience! I kept whispering to her that I’ve always (secretly) wanted to be a Pink Lady. The lady sitting next to us had on her Pink Lady jacket. (I’ll admit it made me a tiny bit jealous!) So, yes, wear your poodle skirts, leather and bobby socks, and make sure you check out the refreshments sold at intermission. That special themed drink is pretty tasty!
