My family likes to eat fruits and vegetables. (Yes, my children do, too!) Every night for dinner, we prepare a meat, a starch and at least one vegetable. Fruit is usually offered as a “dessert”. We make weekly trips to the store for our produce, but buy local when we can! I can often be found at H-E-B on Sunday nights, the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings and Sprouts when I am in the area. I would love to make less frequent trips to the store, but with produce, that is not always an option. Or I didn’t think so….until I was introduced to Greenling.
Greenling is a service that delivers fresh, organic and/or local produce, along with meats, dairy and other baked items to customers in some areas of Texas. Currently, they service Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Allen and Austin.
Greenling gives you the option to choose your fruits. vegetables, dairy, etc. to fit your family’s needs. You can choose individual items, boxes or prepped meal kits. (I did say prepped meal kits! DELIVERED! – Is that a double win or what?)
I had the opportunity to review the All-American Beef Burger Meal Kit.
The meal kit contains:
(4) Beef patty
(4) Wheat bun
prepared Red onion
(4) bottles of water
I knew the exact date the meal kit would arrive, so I was prepared for it’s arrival. I was excited to not have to make a trip to the store, and knowing there would be no prep work was even better.
The meal kit was delivered, and arrived in an insulated bag, keeping all of the contents cold. (The water had ice inside. Just as I like it!) The contents were indeed cold.
Upon taking all of the contents out, I noticed the freshness of the ingredients. The lettuce was nice and crisp, the tomatoes were neatly sliced, and the onion was perfectly sliced. The whole-wheat buns were soft, too. The burgers were made from grass-fed, organic beef.
With the description of the meal kit, are instructions:
Instructions for the grill:
1. Heat grill to medium heat, approximately 250 degrees F, or hot enough so that you can only hold your hand to the heat for about 1-2 seconds.
2. Place burger patties on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
3. About one minute before the burgers are done, add buns to the grill crust side-up.
4. Remove burgers and buns from the grill.
6. Spread burger sauce on each toasted bun half. Place cooked patty on bottom bun and top with red onion, lettuce, tomato and top bun.
Instructions for the stove:
1. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add burger patties to skillet and cook 3-4 minutes each side.
This meal kit contains wheat, soy and eggs.
Dinner was ready in about 15 minutes, and was delicious. My children enjoyed the burgers, too!
The All-American Beef Patty Meal Kit sells for $26.95, comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and is delivered FREE of charge, to your door.
Greenling is currently delivering in Dallas and Fort Worth, TX, but has an eye out for other areas. Disclosure: I was provided with a meal kit in exchange for this review. No other compensation was received. Well, I did have the opportunity to attend a fun Greenling launch party in Dallas…. the food was great and the employees were so friendly! I was even able to meet a few of the vendors!
