I am writing this post on behalf of Family Christian, for a chance to attend the Heart to Home conference in Monroe, LA. All opinions are my own, but prayers are much appreciated!
It’s been said that a southern girl has five loves: the Lord, sweet tea, a front porch, her accent and her family. Growing up in South Louisiana, I can confirm that to be true. My 27 years in the south wasn’t a privilege… It was a blessing!
Sometimes blessings come when we need them most. Just as this opportunity I’m about to share with you: I’m talking about the 2-day Heart to Home conference, taking place February 6-7, 2015 in Monroe, LA. This conference, led by Christian author Dr. Joneal Kirby will feature the women of Duck Dynasty – Miss Kay, Korie, Missy, Jessica and Lisa (plus Mia!) – along with Jase Robertson, Mary Beth Chapman and so many more!
It will be a weekend of grace, beauty and integrity, mixed with encouragement, spiritual growth and development… and I’m hoping to attend! You see, Family Christian, an official sponsor of the conference, is blessing one blogger with a VIP trip, including a pass to the conference! How amazing would that be? This trip would include a 5 hour drive to reflect and renew, a VIP conference pass, a visit to Willie’s Diner, a meet with the Duck Dynasty cast and an overall experience like no other… I am pretty sure my heart is beating faster just typing this post, trying to tell you why I want to attend!
I want to attend this conference for the virtue of peace, worship and much needed strength that radiates from the everyday lives of the Robertsons. (Did I tell you my family is loyal fans of Duck Dynasty?) This trip would bring devotion and encouragement, a higher respect for family values and an amazing weekend of reflection. But I didn’t even tell you the best part! You’d be right along with me because I’ll get to share the experience with all of you on social media!
I had the opportunity to briefly meet Miss Kay last year and her hug alone warmed my soul. Can you imagine the result of listening to the women of Duck Commander over two days? (Even if I’m not able to attend the conference in person, you can bet I’m going to jump on the sessions through the live simulcast!) This is an event not to be missed. You can even call a few girlfriends over for a potluck lunch, play the simulcast on the computer and serve up some sweet tea for a great afternoon! It’s easy to multiply your blessing in the presence of friends!
Let me know if you plan to attend this conference or watch the simulcast! I’ll let you know if I am chosen to go on this trip (my cup of sweet tea is ready for a road trip, y’all – and that’s a fact, Jack!)
