I love to go to the spa and will never turn down a reason to visit! My skin always feels refreshed after an exfoliating treatment, and I always leave relaxed with a sense of renewal. If I could, I would visit the spa once a week, and that’s not a joke!
Exfoliating is great for the feet, knees, hands and elbows, but some areas of the skin can be sensitive to the scrubbing. I have to watch where most scrubs are applied and recently figured out a way to exfoliate without worry.
I started making my own exfoliating scrub about two months ago and found out just how gentle a scrub can be. In fact, with just two ingredients (already in your home,) you will have smoother, softer skin without a trip to the spa!
I love that I can add in my favorite body wash to create the environment I desire. For me, I choose the Caress Forever Collection Body Wash because of the 12 hour fragrance release. This body wash has Fragrance Touch Technology, which releases bursts of perfume with every touch of your skin (for up to 12 hours!)
The Caress Forever Collection has two varieties:
- Top Note: Mandarin Orange and Peach
- Heart Note: Scarlet Red Rose, Peony and Freesia
- Base Note: Sandalwood and Vanilla Musk
- Top Note: Raspberry and Cassis
- Heart Note: Angel Face Rose and Muguet
- Base Note: Amber, Honey and Vanilla
These two varieties are available at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide for a suggested retail or $3.99 (13.5 oz body wash).
Homemade Exfoliating Body Scrub
You will need:
- Corn Meal
- Caress Forever Collection Body Wash
Place 1/4 cup of corn meal into a small mixing bowl. (I find it easier to mix as needed. I have never tried to store this scrub longer than a week.)
Mix in the Caress Body Wash until you have reached the desired thickness.
When taking a bath or shower, gently rub the scrub onto your skin to exfoliate before rinsing.
