With three boys and a princess in my family, one of our favorite places to visit is Medieval Times Dallas. There is no other place we can enjoy dinner and an entertaining tournament at the same time. When we were invited back to the castle, my children couldn’t wait! I am excited to share our experience, and let you know what to expect!
Upon arriving at the Dallas castle, my family received a greeting to accompany the atmosphere, “Hello, my Lord” and “My, you are a beautiful princess”. My children’s smiles lit up, and I knew we were in for a fun filled evening!
While waiting for the show to begin, we became acquainted with the horses in the stables and made our way to the foyer to watch a few knighting ceremonies. The foyer also offers gift shops for souvenirs.
When your team color is announced, the audience is led into the arena, where you are greeted by your server and prepared to cheer on your knight and his jousting skills for the evening: Go Green Knight!
The show was amazing with everything from the fantasy of a horse, a falcon, a king and his princess to knights and dinner!
The meal, which is eaten Medieval style (no utensils!) begins with tomato soup and a piece of delicious toast bread. The next course includes chicken, a potato wedge and corn on the cob. (Vegetarian options are available.) Not to be outdone, dessert makes it’s presence soon before the tournament concludes, which is warm apple crisp or chocolate cake and coffee! (Don’t forget: To-go boxes are available.)
As your plates are taken away, the jousting continues and visitors cheer for their favorite knight to win! My son gets super excited while cheering for his knight, and I’m always scared he will be hoarse the next day! My children really get into the show!
We have been to Medieval Times on several occasions, and each trip is just like the first… Always providing a great time and fun entertainment for everyone!
If you are looking at the schedule of performances and have a choice on whether to attend the first performance of the day vs the second, opt for the second one! After the late performance, the king, his princess and the court of knights come out for autographs! (They have markers for signing, and your crown is a great place to hold those signatures!)
Tickets and show information can be found online. Make sure you follow Medieval Times on facebook for the latest specials and contests! (Make sure you check out this current deal, through 2/28/17. Tickets are only $36.95!)
