Casa Mañana is ready for the musical production of Peter Pan, which runs from April 25 – May 11, 2014 as part of the Community Bank Children’s Theatre Series.
I had the opportunity to see the production this week, and I must say, this is one show your children will love! My 4 year old did not move or say more than 10 words the entire time – and it’s because he was so focused! The production kept our attention with songs, a hunt for Captain Hook and in-the-air flying action!
The show starts with an introduction to Wendy, John and Michael as Mrs. Darling, the mother, serenades us with her bedtime stories. Mrs. Darling and the family dog have a hunch that someone is peeking through the window, and we have no no doubt it’s Peter Pan!
Peter convinces Wendy and her brothers to take a trip with him to Neverland, where he lives with fairies and the “Lost Boys,” none of whom want to grow up. We soon find out that Neverland holds more than just lost boys – it’s also is the home of an Indian tribe, pirates and a hungry, ticking crocodile… all of which Peter has to face as friend or foe.
Peter Pan is a wonderful show filled with extravagant acting by a great cast. I appreciated the audience interaction, use of forced imagination and edge-of-your-seat chases!
Tickets, which are $16-$36, can be purchased now by calling 817-332-2272 or visiting www.casamanana.org.
