There’s a new service arriving in the Austin area this week, and it is bound to make parents in the area extremely excited! This new service, called QCare, will make caring for sick children a little bit easier, with just the touch of a few buttons.
Q.Care is an on-demand mobile application platform, used to immediately connect a parent on nights and weekends to a Pediatric Specialist for a FREE nurse Consult or a House Call. With the touch of a button, their experienced Pediatric Specialists will be at your home to treat, diagnose, and prescribe medication, if needed. Your child will receive a complete history and physical as well as any diagnostic test needed — without ever leaving the comfort of your couch.
After downloading the app, parents can consult with a nurse through the hotline, then request a nurse to come to the house. The board-certified nurse practitioner will then arrive at your house within the hour. Q.care treats a wide variety of childhood common conditions from age birth to 18 years old, including in-home strep and flu tests.
Q.Care house calls are affordable, and the company accepts most insurances. You simply pay your standard co-pay, plus a $25 convenience fee. Without insurance, the standard visit starts at $150, which still less than a standard ER or urgent care visit! (Plus, you’re receiving the care without having to leave your home!)
The innovative service has been an instant hit with parents across North Texas as PediaQ has successfully demonstrated how to meet their needs with over 3,000 house calls since it’s launch last fall! That number will certainly grow as Q.care becomes available in Austin on weekends from 8am-8pm. (Serving Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Leander neighborhoods.
