Halloween will be here in less than 30 days! Have you looked at Halloween costumes yet? We walked down the Halloween aisle last week, and the costume was $20, and the accessory (hat, shield, shoes, etc.) was another $10-15 EACH! Yikes! Those costumes can add up!
Here are a few ways to save on Halloween costumes:
1. Make your own costume. Look around your house and get creative. Old shirts can be painted or spruced up with dye or paint. It doesn’t take much to tye-dye a shirt, find a pair of blue jeans and sunglasses and call yourself a Hippie. Get creative!
2. Shop for Halloween costumes in local facebook groups, at thrift stores or garage sales. Most people only wear their costume once, and that’s it! Most of the time, the costume you buy second hand will still be in fairly good condition!
3. Beg and borrow! Ask your friends and family if they would consider swapping costumes! Ask them right after Halloween, and store it in the back of your closet for a year!
