With Spring Break travel around the corner, we all focus on packing a suitcase and often forget about packing the car. I always suggests you keep a basic “needs” box in the car, tucked away in the trunk — you never know when you are going to be in need.
- sunscreen and bug repellent
- flashlights
- bottle of water
- glow sticks
- a pair of socks
- a sharpie
- feminine products
- scissors
- clear tape
- an envelope
- a small note pad
- ink pen
- rope
- disinfecting wipes
You can never be too prepared, and with this basic needs box, I will be ready for any situation that arises. I can not tell you how many times I searched my car for an envelope or wish I had a pair of socks when we decided to go bowling!
Just make sure the items don’t bust from sitting in the car too long. Instead of a full bottle of sunscreen, I bought a travel size container to add sunscreen to. (Just make sure you label it correctly.) With the Texas heat at 100 degrees over the summer, I always find my bottle of hand sanitizer about to explode, and I’m sure the sunscreen and bug repellent could do the same.
