With summer quickly approaching, I’ve been looking for more ways to make our own snacks at home. I like to get my kids in the kitchen, and these 2 ingredient berry yogurt popsicles are perfect for doing just that.
I like to start with fresh fruit and wash it thoroughly. Then, I let the fruit dry for at least an hour before chopping each piece of fruit in half or into smaller bite-size pieces.
I’ve used blueberries, strawberries, peaches and bananas, and I love that I only have to add a tiny bit of honey when I use the blueberries to balance the bitterness and make the popsicles sweeter.
I let my children gently mix the fruit into our favorite low-fat or full-fat yogurt (we like the strawberry flavor), then we pour the mixture into popsicle molds and freeze overnight. (I can’t say freeze for 6 hours because I always let my children make these at night to enjoy the next day…. so to be honest, I don’t known exact a timeframe.)
The result? Delicious berry yogurt popsicles that are great for the 4th of July or any summer day!
Since these yogurt popsicles are red, white and blue, they are perfect for the 4th of July, though we make them all summer long! (You can even combine flavors and let each child create their own personal favorite!)
