I love a good home-cooked meal for dinner, especially on Sundays. It brings comfort, love and that warm fuzzy feeling we didn’t know we needed. Sitting down for a family dinner is something I look forward to every weekend, though sometimes we have to go out to eat since our schedule is so busy. One of the only places my family can get the same home-made goodness is at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
At Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, they put in the time and effort to create homemade meals at a great value to customers. (In fact, more than 20 of their delicious, made-from-scratch entrees are under $10.)
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen’s menu is built on simple ingredients and every team member takes pride in creating recipes made by hand with care and time.
Whether it’s the feeling you get when you taste one of your favorite dishes or when you try a new and exciting flavor, food is at the heart of the matter when it comes to putting a smile on your face. At Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, that’s the why we make our food from scratch in our kitchen. From our fresh salsa, made in-house, to our finger-pinched Homemade Chicken Pot Pie crust, we start with whole ingredients and prep each item with care. It’s the way food is supposed to be prepared – the right way, not the easy way. Because when it’s made the right way, it just plain tastes better.
Some of the restaurant’s top five most popular entrees include the hand-breaded Chicken Tender Platter, hand-cut Grilled Salmon, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, Buffalo Wrapper and New Orleans Pasta.
The Cheddar’s menu offers a wide variety of dishes that appeal to any guests’ culinary preferences, from appetizers to entrees to dessert.
Appetizers At Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
We absolutely loved the delicate, flaky Honey Butter Croissants, and I wasn’t surprised to hear that the restaurant serves up more than 14 million of these annually! They are that good!
We also loved the fresh-cut, hand-battered onion rings! I could have eaten this entire stack! (Try it with the cajun dipping sauce!)
Entrees at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
We tried the combination of a half rack of slow-smoked Baby Back Ribs with homemade chicken tenders, served with BBQ sauce. This combination was great for my children to split, since they both like a little of each. We paired it with a Ceasar salad, which completed the meal.
The new center-cut, bone-in pork chop is served on a bed of mashed potatoes and topped with bourbon glaze and homemade onion rings. We paired this with steamed broccoli, which was so good with the bourbon glaze mixed in! (This glaze should be on the menu a la carte!) My husband said he has never had a better pork chop. It was cooked to perfection!
…and his steak was cooked to perfection, too! He ordered the 20 oz. Bone-In Ribeye, which is served with your choice of two sides. From the words of my husband, “This was really good and flavorful. I would definitely order this again!”
I introduced my son to the Monte Cristo: Smoked ham, smoked turkey, two cheeses, battered and fried until golden, with raspberry preserves and dusted with powdered sugar. After I tasted this, I wanted to eat more!
Dessert at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
The delicious hand-made taster size desserts were perfect for my children. We had the Chocolate Trifle, Key Lime Pie and Strawberry Cheesecake, which was my favorite!
Make sure you save room for Cheddar’s Legendary Monster Cookie is a scratch-made chocolate chip cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream, homemade hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry.
Our food is not pre-made, but hand-crafted with unhurried care – to make a positive impact on our local community.
…and you can tell. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is eager to serve you and your family for a delicious homemade dinner soon! You can connect with them on facebook, twitter and Instagram.
