Each year, my children anxiously await partaking in fun Christmas activities: decorating the Christmas tree, baking cookies, coming home to hot cocoa on a cold day and attending Christmas at the Anatole in Dallas!
The last few years, we have kicked off the Christmas season with Christmas at the Anatole, making memories, celebrating the reason for the season and having lots of fun while doing so.
One thing we look forward to at the Hilton Anatole is the Christmas decorations. As you walk around the hotel, you’ll see Santa’s workshop, decorated gingerbread houses, beautiful Christmas trees, extremely tall nutcrackers… and that’s just inside!
Outside? Our favorite new feature this year is Peppermint Park, which will definitely get you in the holiday spirit! In the courtyard, you’ll escape to a winter wonderland as you walk under a light tunnel, see the decorations in all the trees, talk to Santa and Mrs. Claus and watch children having fun!
You definitely want to save an afternoon for Peppermint Park, which is free to enter, though you’ll need coupons/tickets to participate in the activities, which include:
Letters To Santa
Reindeer Games (With each game, you can win wooden tokens, which are redeemed for prizes.)
Storytime With Mrs. Claus
… and so much more! (I highly recommend you buy the fun pass so you can save a little money with all the activities!)
Make sure you save time for the outdoor shows, which are cute and funny! We watched a talking Christmas tree, saw penguins dance, went to Elf dance school and saw a quick puppet show! There was definitely more shows than I thought, and I loved how spread out everything was!
Treats like hot cocoa, s’mores cones, popcorn, candy, sodas and rice krispie treats are available for purchase at the Sweet Shoppe, which is also where you’ll purchase your coupons or fun pass for the evening.
Peppermint Park is open on select days through December 30:
November 24-26, 2017
December 1-3, 2017
December 8-10, 2017
December 15-23, 2017
December 26-30, 2017
The activities are available from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, but the fun doesn’t end there. There’s a Christmas movie that plays on holiday weekends, complete with a popcorn bar! (We saw How The Grinch Stole Christmas, but I hear the movie selection is rotated.)
Breakfast With Santa At The Hilton Anatole
The next morning, we woke up early for one of my favorite events ever: Breakfast with Santa! The Anatole knows how to do breakfast, and this excites me more than you know! From eggs to pancakes to sausage, bacon, pastries and oatmeal, if you want it for breakfast, I’m sure it’s on that buffet spread!
Santa enters the room then greets each of the children as he walks from table to table, taking pictures and engaging in conversation as requested. He doesn’t skip a moment as he then invites all the children to join him at his chair to read a story. *Santa might stick around for more pictures after storytime, as his sleigh allows.*
Cookies make the world a better place. So many memories to be made at the @hiltonanatole in #dallasTX. We had a delicious meal at Breakfast with Santa this morning, then finished it off with cookies and milk, of course! #anatolememories AD #travel #christmas #santa #cookiesandmilk #santapictures #toddlersofinstagram
After breakfast, we headed downstairs to Geppetto’s Marionette Theater to see the Christmas puppet show: Winter Wonderland.
In this show, you’ll hear your favorite holiday songs as you head to the North Pole with some recognizable characters. You’ll see dancing elves, Rudolph, Frosty and the Winter Wizard, to name a few!
And even if you can’t fit in a weekend stay at the Anatole Hotel, you can still buy tickets to Geppetto’s – Make sure you check out the show schedule on their website, and promise me you’ll walk around the Anatole if you stop by. (Side note: Geppetto’s Theater hosts birthday parties, too! How fun!)
I can not thank the Hilton Anatole enough for hosting my family to make Christmas memories again this year. For more information on Christmas at the Anatole, including Peppermint Park and/or Breakfast With Santa, visit Hilton Anatole’s Christmas Experience or call: 1 214 748 1200
