Of my three children, my daughter enjoys being outside the most. She likes to pick up bugs, play in the dirt and ride her bike. Two years ago, my son received a BB Gun for Christmas and there was no doubt my daughter would ask for one quickly after. And recently, she did. Thankfully, Daisy BB Guns make some cool Christmas gifts, so we recently headed over to Academy Sports to see the options.
We purchased a pink Daisy BB Gun, pink protective eye gear and some BB’s. (You heard me right… a pink gun and pink protective eye gear!)
Before we loaded the gun, we had a lesson on safety:
- Treat every gun as if it were loaded. Always.
- Only load or cock a gun when you are shooting.
- Only point the gun at something that can be (legally) destroyed.

Check your target and beyond your target. Be sure all persons are well clear of the target area before you shoot.

Anyone shooting or near a shooter should wear shooting glasses.

Make sure everyone is behind the shooter.

Never climb or jump with a gun.

Never shoot at a flat hard surface or at the surface of water. Ammunition can ricochet off of water just like a skipped rock.

Keep the muzzle clear and never let anything obstruct the muzzle of a gun. Don’t allow the muzzle to come in contact with the ground.

Respect other people’s property.
Daisy educates roughly one million of America’s youth a year through their Ten Lesson Shooting Curriculum about BB gun use and safety (found here).
When my daughter was clear on the safety rules and we had practiced a little aiming, we were ready to start shooting. It made for a great family afternoon on a beautiful day! A Daisy BB Gun would make a cool Christmas gift for any child on your list this Christmas!
Before we went out to the woods, we painted cardboard box for the target. My daughter designed it, but once my son found out, they quickly came up with a point system for a little competition. This was now a sport of math, skill and eye coordination.
Daisy has engaged the masses with portable, inflatable BB gun ranges that can be found at major outdoor sporting goods retailers and leading conservation organizations. The majority of those who attend the an outdoor or store event and shoot at the ranges are first-time shooters.

I always have special gifts to get for my wife and children. Our kids appreciate whatever they get, but I like to really get that one gift that will make them howl with joy.

This BB gun is actually on my daughters Christmas List! Her older brother has several guns and shoots competitively so she’s itching to follow in his footsteps!
I WOULD LOVE TO BUY A PINK PELLET GUN AND HAVE COMPETITION WITH MY SON! HE HAS A REGULAR DAISY THAT HIS PARAN BOUGHT HIM LAST CHRISTMAS AND HE DOESNT LET ME TOUCH IT BECAUSE GUNS AREN’T FOR GIRLS. BUT, IF I HAD A PINK ONE, HE WOULD DEFINITELY KNOW THAT GUNS ARE FOR GIRLS TOO!
