Even thought it feels like summer just started, I was quickly reminded that it’s time to go Back To School shopping. With 3 children to shop for, I usually take each child out for a day of their own, looking for their favorite pencils, shirts and backpacks. We go out for lunch at their most sought-after restaurant, then spend time doing something they want to do (bowling, movies, etc.) With that said, we would rather not fight the crowds and get our school supplies as quickly and budget-friendly as possible.
The first place we go to? Dollar General.
I know that I can shop for the basics, getting those items crossed off in a snap. From ink pens to socks to binders and markers, Dollar General conveniently has their back to school items lined up towards the front of the store for easy grabbing.
Spend $15, you can Save $5 At Dollar General
Right now, when you spend $15, you can save $5 on school supplies! This deal includes backpacks, lunch kits, folders, glue, pens, pencils and more! (*Use that $5 to put toward lunch or something special for your child!)
And, if you happened to leave your supply list at home, parents can find their child’s supply list online, just by just entering their zip code to find their school! We found the Teacher List feature so helpful through our day!
We even found treats to go in our new lunch box! For the first week, we are packing foods we love like pepperoni, peanut butter, cheese & crackers, fruit, nuts and Good & Smart coconut water.
Teacher Supplies
Dollar General even has items for teachers, too! I picked up note pads, scissors, tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer and more! Right now, teachers can show their school badge at the register to Save 20% OFF on stationery!
Support The Literacy Foundation
The next time you visit Dollar General, look for their Fudge Dipped Shortbread, Caramel & Sea Salt Bar and/or Milk Chocolate Bar. Dollar General graciously donates 100% of proceeds from these products to the DG Literacy Foundation. They believe everyone deserves an equal opportunity to receive a basic education, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s never too late to learn and the foundation supports youth and adult literacy programs across the country. In May 2019, DG Literacy Foundation donated $8.3 Million to programs in 42 states!
I know a teacher or two who would love to find a candy bar as their welcome back gift! (Or, you can save this for the best after-school snack on the first day of school! Make s’mores and talk about your child’s day!)
Make sure you head to Dollar General for all your Back To School needs! What’s one item you’re looking for this school year?
