Working from home has it’s ups and downs. One up? I can stay in my pajamas all day. One down? Sometimes I get so carried away with checking emails and writing stories that I realize it’s already time for lunch! I am usually reminded of lunch by my 5 year old, then I scramble to the kitchen to find something quick and hot… especially on a cold day. Luckily, Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soups are easy to prepare and are ready in no time.
The Campbell’s Slow Kettle Soups can be found in the canned soup aisle, along with the other Campbell’s products. I picked these up at Walmart, where I noticed a variety of flavors like Baked Potato Soup with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Tomato & Sweet Basil Bisque, Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Bisque, Kickin’ Crab & Sweet Corn and Braised Beef Stew, though there were several others.
These soups are perfect for lunch at home, but I decided to kick these soups up even more, creating a quick bread bowl that anyone would enjoy. Simply follow the directions (on package) to heat up the soup on the stove and then get ready to prepare your bowl. *These soups are microwavable, but you will get better results when heated on the stove.
You will need a pre-made round bread, usually one of the Italian variety, though any will do. Take a serrated knife and slice off the top portion, making sure to leave a high outer edge or lip that will contain the liquid.
Carefully pour the warm soup into the bread bowl and enjoy! I tried this with the Tomato & Sweet Basil Bisque and my 5 year old couldn’t get enough! It was definitely a welcomed treat on a cold, rainy day. I can’t wait to try this with the Creamy Broccoli Cheddar next!
