soup bread bowlWorking from home has it’s ups and downs.  One up? I can stay in my pajamas all day. One down? Sometimes I get so carried away with checking emails and writing stories that I realize it’s already time for lunch!  I am usually reminded of lunch by my 5 year old, then I scramble to the kitchen to find something quick and hot… especially on a cold day.  Luckily, Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soups are easy to prepare and are ready in no time.

The Campbell’s Slow Kettle Soups can be found in the canned soup aisle, along with the other Campbell’s products.  I picked these up at Walmart, where I noticed a variety of flavors like Baked Potato Soup with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Tomato & Sweet Basil Bisque, Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Bisque, Kickin’ Crab & Sweet Corn and Braised Beef Stew, though there were several others.

You will need a pre-made round bread, usually one of the Italian variety, though any will do.  Take a serrated knife and slice off the top portion, making sure to leave a high outer edge or lip that will contain the liquid.

Make sure you slice all the way through the top portion, as shown below.  Remove this layer, but keep for dipping, if necessary.

Hollow out the center of the bread, making sure not to create a hole in the wall.
