Disclosure: My family received tickets to Hawaiian Falls, with a private cabana, in exchange for this review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
We recently gave my son the choice of where he wanted to go on his 9th birthday. Out of five choices, he chose Hawaiian Falls Water Park, which I knew would be perfect being the Texas heat is in full swing!
My family had visited the Hawaiian Falls Water Park in Mansfield, TX a few times before, so we decided to visit the park in Roanoke! I was happy to find out the water park is located near the downtown area, so we were able to drive down Main Street and check out Babe’s in Roanoke beforehand.
Once we arrived at the park, we took a tram from the parking lot to the entrance. Though the walk is rather short, I could see how the tram would be appreciated when carrying in a heavy ice chest! (I love the fact that Hawaiian Falls allows you to bring in an ice chest, packed with your favorite lunch or drinks.) Note: There is a small fee for ice chests, and no glass or alcoholic beverages are allowed.
We were lead straight to our cabana, and introduced to our cabana girl for the afternoon. She had the best attitude and was very attentive to our needs! Since the cabana comes with (4) unlimited drink bands, the cabana girl took our drink order and I dished out the sunscreen. Before all three of my children were lathered up, our cabana girl had returned and assured us she was there if we needed anything.
I loved the location of our cabana, and was happy that it was near the kiddie slides! My husband left to get a life jacket as my children and I entered the water fun! Hawaiian Falls provides free life jackets for children’s use while at the park.
After getting soaked in the kiddie area, we headed to the lazy river for some relaxation! I could spend the afternoon there, and I think my children could, too! The depth is perfect and the water’s current isn’t too strong. There are lifeguards along the park, specifically along the path of the lazy river, which made me feel more comfortable about the park as a whole. Any parent can appreciate an extra set of monitoring eyes and the knowledge of a lifeguard while in the water.
By this time, my two older children were ready to explore the slides, so my husband offered to stay back with my 3 year old. I like the “miniature” big slides available at the park. While that may sound like an oxymoron, it’s the perfect description when you think about it: There are some big slides that my 6 and 8 year old would say “no” to, but in the kiddie area, those miniature big slides looked more appealing, and they couldn’t wait to get on! In fact, my children went on them again and again!
We had a fantastic day at Hawaiian Falls, and can’t wait to go back! Make sure you click here to save 50% on Hawaiian Falls tickets thru 8/16 !

We just visited Hawaiian Falls for the first time and it was so much fun! The kids loved it and we will definitely be going back.
We haven’t gone yet, I wasn’t sure my kids were old enough to really have fun but it sounds like there is tons of fun for the whole family! Maybe we can squeeze it in before summer is over. π
We have really debated taking our kids – they really want to go, but we have the same age split that you do so your post was really helpful.
I had no idea they had a Hawaiian Falls in Mansfield! We love the one in The Colony. Good times!
Good to know they have a little kid area. I’ve wondered if my daughter was old enough.
I’m waiting to go, but we love Roanoke so we might wait and do the whole Babe’s and Waterpark (well in different order since I won’t put a bathing suit on after I’ve been to Babe’s. Ooh, that’s just wrong for me. π
