Earlier this month, we received an offer to try Hello Fresh.  Since it’s something I had looked into before, I decided to give it a try.  Hello Fresh is a weekly meal subscription service (*you can adjust and skip weeks!) delivering fresh ingredients to your door.  You pick the recipes you’d like to try (except for the veggie meal plan) and Hello Fresh sends everything you need to prepare them!  It’s kind of a neat concept.

After going online to choose my recipes, I was then given a scheduled day to expect delivery.  The contents do arrive cold, with ice packs, but you might want to prepare to be home when the box arrives.

Take a look at what came inside our Hello Fresh box – This is a meal for 4:

Hello Fresh packaged all ingredients into separate meal boxes, then inside each box, into individual bags/containers.  I loved how each ingredient was labeled and portioned for easy use.   I appreciated the easy to follow instructions, too!

The only downfall I saw was the price.  Hello Fresh comes out to roughly $12/meal, per person.  I know I can get these ingredients way less at the grocery store, and I know how to look up recipes online.  You have to keep in mind you are paying for delivery and pre-portioned, ready to cook meals.  For my family of 5, it’s almost easier to go to a restaurant and have them clean the dishes, however, this opened my children up to trying new things.

Below you can see our second meal of the week.  My kiddos ate those mashed parsnips up, and I’ll definitely cook those again!
