One of our favorite cereals is undoubtedly Post Honey Brunches of Oats®. It’s the perfect combination of crispy and sweet flakes, plus crunchy clusters, plus a touch of honey which adds up to a mouthful of joy because of the mix of flavors inside the box.  But right now, there’s something else to look for inside specially marked boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats!

What is a Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo Switch combines the power of a home console with the mobility of a handheld. So you get more time to play the games you love, however you like.  The system comes packaged with the main unit, left and right Joy-Con with a Joy-Con wrist strap for each. Therefore, it’s a multi-player experience right out of the box for your kids/family! My children love playing on the Nintendo Switch every weekend, and we (mom and dad) like to get a little competitive and join in!)  We can’t wait to play Super Mario Odyssey, which is a captivating, globe-trotting gaming adventure, soon to be available for the Nintendo Switch.  With Super Mario Odyssey, you can join Mario to use his incredible new abilities to collect Moons so you can power up your airship, the Odyssey, and rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s wedding plans! (The Super Mario Odyssey game will be available October 27th.)

Honey Bunches of Oats No-Bake Cluster Snacks

I love to bake, but there are some nights I want to make a quick snack that my children will love.  When making after-school snacks, I love to incorporate items I already have in my pantry.  Since we always have a box of Honey Bunches of Oats on hand, it was easy to whip these no-bake cluster snacks up on a recent rainy school day.

  • 2 cups Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds cereal
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ stick butter (4 tablespoons)
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Start by melting the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.  Add the milk, sugar, salt and vanilla, stiring to combine.  Bring this mixture to a rolling boil, and boil for 1 minute.  (If you undercook the mixture, your treats won’t set.  On the flip side, if you overcook the mixture, they will crack.  Set your timer for 1 minute!)

After the mixture boils, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter until completely dissolved.  Fold in the Honey Bunches of Oats.  Spoon the mixture into clusters, onto a silicone mat, wax paper or aluminum foil.  I like to use a cookie scoop to make sure the clusters are uniform in size, but a regular table spoon would work great, too.

Allow the clusters to set for about one hour before eating.

Makes about 24 snacks, depending on the size of each cluster.
