With stay at home orders for most of the country, there’s lots of Netflix, Hulu and news watching going on in this house. One Netflix series I just binged was Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.  According to Wikipedia, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is a 2020 true crime documentary television series about the life of Joe Exotic. It was released on Netflix on March 20, 2020. The series focuses on the small but deeply interconnected society of big cat conservationists like Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue, and collectors such as Exotic, who Baskin accuses of abusing and exploiting wild animals.  It is a bad, 7 episode roller coaster that sucks you in, and there’s lots of strong language, so it’s definitely not for children.  What is for children, though, is this Tiger King costume!

I have a feeling this Joe Exotic costume will be very popular this Halloween, but it was fun to get outside and take a few pictures while it’s nice and sunny!

I started by cutting the sleeves off of an old plaid shirt.  Joe Exotic wears a variety of clothes in the series, so make sure you alter this, depending on the weather.

We paired the shirt with a silver chain, blue jeans, a leg “brace and cowboy boots.

(side note: I don’t know if Carole Baskin really did it, but according to social media, she did. Maybe we will find out the truth in Season 2.)

For the wig, I simply cut the hair off of an old baby doll and hot glued it to a hat!  It’s messy, but work in small sections for best results!

To complete the look, add a mustache, facial jewelry, a few tattoos and some scratches to the skin.  For this, I used eye liner and mascara, but you could add in magnetic jewelry for the ears, too!
