I grew up in Louisiana.  One of my favorite memories is having a big bowl of Wolf Brand Chili on a cold day.  I remember staying in my pajamas and nice warm socks, enjoying warm chili and crackers.

Wolf Brand Chili puts a true taste of Texas in every can. A Texas ranch cook and Lyman T. Davis developed the original Wolf Brand Chili recipe in 1895, and for over 100 years the Wolf Brand’s unique blend of seasonings and good hearty beef has delivered authentic chili taste. Wolf Brand Chili has always been great, and now it’s thicker and heartier, just the way Texans like it.

Since moving to Texas, we have lots of cold days, with lots of bowls of chili.  Because of this, the big bowl of chili is not a special occasion anymore.  So I had to think of something special for my children, to make chili just as memorable for them, as it was for me.  And sometimes the best ideas come when you don’t expect them…

Since today is Columbus Day, we didn’t have school!  It was rainy outside, so our plans for a picnic in the park were cancelled.  I decided to let my children make chili nachos, using Wolf Brand Chili, instead!

Wolf Brand Chili

We started by warming a can of Wolf Brand Chili in the microwave.  (Make sure you cover the bowl.  You can thank me later!)  While it was very tempting to open a pack of crackers and dig in, I knew my children were waiting to make their own lunch, so I resisted!

While the chili heated, I gathered the toppings and laid them out for the convenience of my children.

I then let my children line up and prepare their plate of nachos to their liking!  It was very easy for each of them, and I think they enjoyed this more than having a picnic!

Wolf Brand Chili

 Wolf Brand Chili
Wolf Brand Chili heard their consumers loud and clear when they said they were craving a chili with a little more substance, so now Wolf Brand Chili is thicker and heartier than ever. Just the way Texans like it!
