My goal for 2017 was to spend more time on myself.  From regular trips to the nail salon, hair stylist and occasional girl’s night out, we are now in September and there’s only one thing I’m missing:  workout sessions.

I was recently invited to visit a Curves location in Dallas, where I found out how easy and fun 30 minutes of working out could be!

After a brief talk with a coach and a quick lesson on using the equipment, I jumped right in and joined my friends for a workout.  You are set up in a circuit, switching activities every few seconds, after hearing a prompt from the sound system.  A framed picture reminds you there are “No Makeup, No Men and No Mirrors,” and it makes me want to workout longer!  (I really don’t feel comfortable in co-ed gyms or open areas.  It’s refreshing not having to worry about any pressure and being encouraged by the women around you instead.  That’s the support I never really knew I needed!

It was time to focus on me, and that’s what I did for those short 30 minutes, thanks to the help of Curves.  They are committed to providing women with the tools necessary to empower them to live more fulfilling lives.  And it’s working.
