Easy 5 Ingredient Beer Bread Recipe

Dawn Monroe 4 Comments

beer bread recipe

Beer Bread is delicious and one of my family’s favorites!  I used to buy those packages of Beer Bread mix from the store or through an at-home business.  Then I learned to make it myself – it’s so easy and takes just 5 ingredients to make.

The best part?  You probably have these ingredients sitting in your pantry or refrigerator, so you don’t even need a special trip to the supermarket for supplies!  This beer bread is perfect for dinner, snacking, sharing and gifting.  I always like to bake extra and keep a loaf in the freezer.

Your friends will love it as much as your family will – it really is delicious and extremely easy to make!  If you’ve never made homemade bread before, this is the one to start with.  It’s probably fool proof if you follow the instructions.

5 Ingredient Beer Bread

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
4  1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup sugar or brown sugar – use whichever you have or 1/2 and 1/2
12 ounces (can or bottle) of your favorite beer
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9×5 loaf pan with nonstick spray or coat the bottom and sides lightly with butter.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in the beer and mix to combine (don’t over-do it).

Pour the batter into the loaf pan(s) and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

I like to rub butter on the top of the bread as soon as it comes out of the oven.  That’s totally optional, though!

Let the bread sit for 10 minutes before slicing.  (SO hard to do, but patience is a virtue.  Remember that.)

Thanks for the recipe. I’ll definitely have to give it a try. I love Beer Bread but have only ever made it with the prepackaged mixes.

Initially, I thought you were pouring Pepsi into the bowl lol. Didn’t know we can make bread using beer. Seems very simple to make, I can try it on my ‘cheat’ day.
